 Coretta Scott King YWLA Goes to the White House!
 
Members of the After School All Stars/SCORES soccer team were front and center at the White House when President Obama congratulated the Stanley Cup Champions!  Watch the White House video below closely at the 5:30 mark, as the President of the United States tosses the championship ball to our very own superstar, 7th grader Percie Thompson.  Click here to read the story.

Congratulations Girls On Fire
Essay Contest Winners!
 
Twelve students received tickets to the Alicia Keys concert for their "Girl On Fire Essays!"  They were also treated to an elegant dinner before the concert.  The girls had to explain how they were a "Girl on Fire" at CSK, and how has the CSK Experience enhanced their life.  The essays were phenomenal! 
We definitely have a school that is on "fire" with academics and enrichment!

  • Superintendent Search Committee community meetings

    The Superintendent Search Committee will hold community meetings at schools in every cluster. The purpose of the meetings is to obtain input regarding the profile for the next superintendent.  The meeting dates and locations are listed below. All meetings will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

     

    ·       May 15: North Region meetings will be held at Harper-Archer MS, the Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy and Sutton MS.

    ·       May 16: South Region meetings will be held at Long MS and Price MS.

    ·       May 20: West Region meetings will be held at Brown MS, Bunche MS and Young MS.

    ·       May 21: East Region meetings will be held at Inman MS and King MS.
